I like good movies and good friends.
In that vein, about once a month, I like to host a gathering at home for close friends to enjoy a good film.

I take great care to ensure that the films are shown in the best manner possible:

The films are displayed on a data-grade CRT projector, providing excellent color fidelity and superior black levels.
The projector is run at 72fps to provide for smooth playback of 24fps film content.
The image is projected onto a 10-foot diagonal screen.
We have an audio system with 5.1 Dolby Digital and dts support, with excellent speakers.
The event playlist and video playback are handled by a custom-built home theater PC.
The source material is the best available (usually DVD), and may be processed to improve quality.
When appropriate, the director's cut of the film is presented.
Foreign-language films are shown with subtitles, and their original language audio.
I always include some trailers and an animated short before the feature. But no commercials.
Full-length features include an intermission.
